Someday Syndrome
Alex hates the word someday. [SOMEDAY SYNDROME]When he owned his Professional Organizing business in Toronto, he worked with his clients to get rid of that word. However, he always felt like a hypocrite, but was never quite sure why. When a friend and client decided to sell everything and travel around the world, Alex figured out the reason.
He’d been living with his own someday for 25 years.
So, in the summer of 2006, he sold his house, shipped his cats off to his parents and gave rid of or sold everything he owned and moved to France to become a writer. Eight months later he had the first draft of his novel and decided to give Spain a try.
He fell in love with both Spain and a Spaniard and now lives in San Sebastian in the Basque country where he has discovered a level of happiness he didn’t know existed.
Alex (Past President of Professional Organizers in Canada) uses his experience to help others get rid of the word someday from their lives through this blog and through email-based workshops. Alex’s two year journey can be found on the archived Alex’s Someday Journey blog.
He also continues to write fiction as well as video scripts for the Professional Organizing website Organizing Connection. If you are interested in reading his fiction, check out the June 2008 issue of Reflection’s Edge.
